"The role of Regions and Cities in delivering high quality apprenticeships for all"
on-line
The high-level event will take place on Thursday 3rd & Friday 4th June from 09:30 until 12:00 CEST. This event is organised in close cooperation with the European Association of Regional & Local Authorities for Lifelong Learning (EARLALL), the German delegation at the CoR and the Basque Government.
The conference will serve as an important occasion to take stock of the pivotal role that regions and cities play in fostering high quality apprenticeships. It will feature a political dialogue between the European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Nicolas Schmit, and the President of the Committee of the Regions, Apostolos Tzitzikostas and it will also include the contribution of the Chair of the Commission for Social Policy, Education, Employment, Research and Culture (SEDEC).
Organised under the umbrella of the Pact of Skills, the conference will capitalise on the series of joint EAfA-CoR events and will provide insights into how stakeholders at different levels can deliver high quality apprenticeships for all, as well as explore the good practices implemented during the COVID-19 outbreak that are expected to remain after the pandemic. Distinguished speakers and participants will discuss a range of topics, including key aspects such as: empowering adults through upskilling and reskilling, promoting the international dimension of apprenticeships, mobilising local and regional actors and encouraging cross-border cooperation.
The event will be translated into Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Greek and Spanish and aims to reach and engage broad and varied audiences.
